Steamed Lobster Tails (Butterflied)

Garlic butter steamed lobster tails are a delicious way to cook lobster tails. Use fresh or frozen lobster tails ranging from 3 ounces to 28 ounces in size.

The garlic butter sauce is made with garlic cloves, butter, lemon, salt, and fresh parsley.

Thaw the lobster tails if frozen for about 20 to 30 minutes.

Mince fresh garlic.

Chop the fresh parsley leaves.

Slice the lemon.

Melt the butter in a small saucepan on medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and fry until golden brown.

Once the garlic changes colors, add the lemon juice.

Add the chopped parsley.

Cook for about 30 seconds to one minute longer. Set the garlic butter aside.

Flip the lobster with the hard shell facing down. Butterfly the lobster tails.

Place the lobster tails on a steamer tray. Cover with a lid.

Steam the lobster tails until cooked through. The cooking time depends on the tail size. See the recipe card for cook times.

Remove the lobster tails from the steamer tray. Drizzle garlic butter sauce on top. Serve immediately.
