Whole Boiled  Lobster Tails

Whole boiled lobster tails are an easy and quick way to cook lobster tails. Use fresh or frozen lobster tails ranging from 3 ounces to 28 ounces in size.

If the lobster tails are previously frozen, thaw them in water. The lobster tail meat should be soft and the tails should curl easily.

Cut the top of the lobster shell to the tail fin. This is optional.

Bring a pot of heavily salted water to a boil, then turn it to a gentle simmer. Place the lobster tails into the water.

The cook time for the tails depend on the tail weight (ranging from 3 to 13 minutes). Use the chart in the recipe card.  Remove tails from the hot water and serve with lemon and melted butter.
