This creamy banana pudding recipe is made with cream cheese, condensed milk, vanilla pudding mix, milk, bananas, and vanilla wafers. Top it with whipped cream or homemade meringue.
Add pudding mix to cold milk. Whisk until combined. Set aside.
In another bowl add condensed milk to cream cheese.
Whisk together using a hand mixer.
Add the vanilla pudding to the cream cheese mixture.
Add a pinch of salt. Mix the pudding and cream mixture together until smooth.
Set the pudding mixture aside.
In a 9" x 13" dish, put vanilla wafers on the bottom. Add sliced bananas on top.
Spread half of the pudding mixture on top of the bananas.
Layer a second row of vanilla wafers and sliced bananas. Top with the pudding mixture.
If using whipped cream or cool whip, top the banana pudding and place it in the fridge. If making homemade meringue, heat the oven to 350 ℉ (180 ℃). Separate the egg yolks from the egg whites.
Add sugar to the egg whites.
Using a hand electric mixer, whisk the egg whites on high until stiff peaks form (about 3 to 4 minutes)
Spread the meringue on top of the banana pudding.
Bake at 350 ℉ (180 ℃) for about 18 minutes or until the meringue turns golden.
