Homemade Shrimp Cocktail

This homemade shrimp cocktail recipe uses large or jumbo shrimp that's shelled and with the tail-on.

The homemade cocktail sauce is made with ketchup, crushed garlic, diced celery, prepared horseradish, lemon, Worcestershire sauce, and tabasco sauce.

Place water at the bottom of the steamer. Add the shrimp to a steamer tray.  Bring the steamer to a boil and cover it with the lid.

After the shrimp turns pink (about 60 to 90 seconds), flip them over.

Dump the steamed shrimp in an ice water bath immediately to stop the shrimp from cooking further.

Place the shrimp on a paper towel lined plate. Dab the shrimp dry. Chil the steamed shrimp in the fridge while preparing the cocktail sauce.

Finely dice the celery. Crush the garlic with a garlic press. Squeeze the lemon.

Add the diced celery, ketchup, horseradish, crushed garlic, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and tabasco sauce to a bowl.

Mix until well combined. Serve the shrimp cocktail sauce with the perfectly steamed shrimp.
