This homemade taco seasoning is made with spices you probably already have in your pantry: chili powder, ground cumin, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, chili flakes, and dried oregano.
Add all of the spices to a bowl.
Mix the spices together. Pour the taco seasoning into a spice jar, mason jar, or storage container.
When ready to make taco meat, just add the ground beef to a large skillet on medium heat.
Cook the meat continuing to break up the clumps.
Add the 3 tablespoons of the taco seasoning (mixed with 2 tsp of cornstarch) for every 1 lb of ground meat. Pour in 3/4 cup of water.
Simmer the taco meat for about 5 to 7 minutes until the sauce thickens up.
Taco meat is ready! Serve with some hard shell tacos.
Or add it to a taco salad.
