Ouzi Rice and  Ground Lamb

Ouzi rice with ground lamb is a delicious one-pot rice dish made with basmati rice, lamb, spices, veggies, pine nuts, almonds, and ghee.

The best part of this dish is the spices: bay leaf, cinnamon stick, Lebanese 7 spices, ground cloves, ground white pepper, cardamom pods, and a whole dried lime.

In a nonstick pot, pan fry onions in olive oil.

Add the ground lamb and spices. Cook until the lamb is brown.

Fry the frozen peas and carrots for about 2 minutes. Pour boiling water.

Let it boil uncovered for 5 minutes. Lower the heat to low and cover. Steam for 15 to 20 minutes until the rice is tender.

In a separate skillet, fry pine nuts and almonds in ghee. Pour on top of the ouzi rice. Serve immediately!
