Karak Chai Cardamom Milk Tea

Karak chai tea is made with black tea, sweetened condensed milk, freshly ground cardamom, sugar, and saffron. It originated in India, however, migrated to many other regions.

Add whole cardamom pods to a spice grinder.

Grind the cardamom pods.

Measure out the loose leaf black tea. Add in the ground cardamom.

Boil the black tea, saffron, and ground cardamom for 15 minutes.

Add the sugar and condensed milk. Boil for another 2 to 3 minutes.

The color of the tea should look like this.

Strain the tea using a tea strainer. Adjust the sweetness as desired.
