This tutorial shows how to cut and deseed a pomegranate quickly, easily, and without a mess.
Slice the ends off of the pomegranate.
Lay the pomegranate with the flat surface side down on the cutting board. Cut from the center outward rotating every 90 degrees. You will be left with 4 quarters of the pomegranate
Place a couple of quarters in a large bowl of water. Remove the seeds while submerged in the water.
The seeds should easily separate from the white peel.
The seeds will sink to the bottom, and the peel will float to the top. Remove the peels from the top. Continue deseeding the remaining pomegranate quarters.
Strain the pomegranate arils from the water.
Pomegranate arils can be frozen. They are great for smoothies. Add the arils to a freezer-friendly bag and freeze for up to 6 months.
