Crème Caramel (Quesillo)

Crème Caramel is a caramel flan dessert known as quesillo in Venezuela. it cuts like butter and tastes like heaven.

 This recipe has 5 ingredients - eggs, milk, condensed milk, sugar, and vanilla.

Add sugar and water to a saucepan. Bring to a boil.

Once the caramel becomes medium brown, remove from heat quickly.

Coat a cake pan with the caramelized sugar. Do it quickly because it hardens once it cools!

Blend eggs, condensed milk, milk, sugar, and vanilla together. Pour into the caramel coated cake pan (or flan pan).

Cover with foil and crimp the edges.

Place the cake pan in a large pot. Heat water in a kettle. Pour the water up the side of the cake pan to about 75% of the way. Cook on medium heat covered for an hour. Refill water every 20 mins.

Place the flan in the fridge for 4 hours to set. Remove the foil. Place a flat plate on top and flip the flan. You may need to run a knife around the edges.
