If you are looking for a keto-friendly morning cup of joe, this recipe is for you. My famous keto latte with almond cream is delicious and can be made without dairy.
Let me just begin that no two espresso shots are alike. I am a bit of a coffee snob, and there is a VAST difference between espresso shots. For the ideal espresso shot, you need the right combination of grind and pull pressure, as well as fresh whole bean coffee. If you'd like to read more about my take on Nespresso machines and espresso machines, check out my Nespresso vs Espresso comparison.
I used a Nespresso machine for the longest time (and still do on occasion), and never thought there was any reason why I would ever possibly want to purchase an expensive espresso machine. Then one day as I strolled around Sur La Table, and I tried a fresh espresso shot with crema from one of the machines.
My world changed after that.
For the next year, I researched a TON. I visited the espresso machines on a few occasions “just to make sure” the espresso shots were as good as my first tasting. I read blogs and forums. I read reviews of different machines because I was concerned about maintenance issues. I even talked to anyone I knew with a home espresso machine.
But ultimately, I hesitated because of the cost.
Is the Nespresso Machine really cheaper? I broke down the yearly cost of owning and operating a Nespresso machine vs. an Espresso Machine. It was apparent- the home espresso machine was CHEAPER.
Once I realized that I would actually save money, I purchased the Breville Barista Express Espresso Machine.
I still use my Nespresso Aeroccino Milk Frother for frothing the almond cream or milk for my keto latte. The Breville Barista Express Espresso Machine has a frothing wand that can give a few different options when frothing liquids. However, I prefer the Nespresso Aeroccino Milk Frother instead because it’s faster and I don’t have to fill the espresso machine water tank as often.
Any espresso shot will do for this recipe.
I like to use homemade almond milk made with a Vitamix blender.
** You can make this recipe dairy-free. Substitute unsweetened coconut milk for the half and half and whipping cream.

I used this recipe with my nespresso. Maybe one day I’ll invest in something better.
