Stop drinking empty calories! Ditch your sugary drinks for hydrating infused water that is refreshing and healthy. In this post, I share my favorite infused water recipe for weight loss.
If you do ONE thing on your health journey, I would recommend doing this. Stop drinking your calories, and start adequately hydrating your body.
Are you addicted to sugary drinks?
I was! After gaining a lot of weight in my first year working in the corporate world, I had to re-examine what I was feeding my body. This one change, substituting sugar coffee drinks with a non-calorie substitute such as infused water, makes all the difference!
It’s hard at first to break the habit, but by day 3, you start to notice how much better you feel.
Can I drink infused water for weight loss? YASSS!!!
Sugary drinks are empty calories. They don’t keep you full and it’s so easy to drink a ton of calories. I am a creature of habit. If it’s my habit to get a frappuccino every morning and follow that up with coke at lunch. There you go – 600-700 calories just in drinking TWO drinks.
Make infused water or unsweetened tea your HABIT. If you want to have a sugary drink every now and then, make that your exception. Not the other way around. After you get into a habit, you won’t even think twice about it. You will just grab the healthier option.

Infused Water Recipe
There are two main ways to make infused water. One is putting everything in the same jug and straining out the bits (or you can leave the bits in your cup which is what I do). The second is buying a glass container that has an infuser like this one.
Personally, I don’t like to have a lot of useless kitchen gadgets. So unless the kitchen gadget REALLY makes my life easier, I don’t buy it. My most favorite kitchen tools are listed in this post.
Variations of Infused Water
Pick any of the following as a mix or individually:
- sliced strawberries
You can make a big batch of infused water in a glass pitcher. Or, you can make a week’s worth of infused water with individual glass bottles, like these. It’s so easy to pack this infused water with you. Once prepared, it’s like grabbing a water bottle from the pantry. Except, you are more sophisticated- you are grabbing infused water in a glass bottle.
Another calorie-free drink that I highly recommend is Jasmine iced tea.
