Baked Chicken Kafta Patties

  • Author: Mariam
  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 20 chicken patties 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

These oven-baked chicken kafta patties are made from ground chicken and Middle Eastern spices. These are easy and freezer-friendly.

Units Scale
  • 1 kg ground chicken
  • 1.5 cups breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup parsley
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 small onions finely chopped + salt to rub them in
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon seven spices
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • Dash of salt + pepper
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil

  1. Place the ground chicken, onions, spices, ketchup, and parsley in a bowl. Mix everything up with your hands.
  2. Gradually start adding the breadcrumbs until you can easily form patties out of the mixture (you might need a bit more or less than what's listed above). Slowly add the breadcrumbs until you can start rolling the mixture into balls without it falling apart.
  3. Mix everything up then roll the meat mixture into patties (or meatballs).
  4. Place in an oven baking dish and drizzle with olive oil.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 ℉ or 180 ℃ (or until the chicken internal temperature reaches 165 ℉ or 74 ℃).
  6. Serve and enjoy!

  • Store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
  • If freezing these kafta patties, cook them halfway, allow them to cool, then freeze them. When ready to reheat them, thaw at room temperature, then bake in the oven or skillet until the chicken is fully cooked.
