This 20-minute turkey meat taco recipe is made with lean ground turkey, taco seasoning, taco shells, and taco toppings.
Add some olive oil to a large nonstick skillet on medium heat.
Place the lean ground turkey into the skillet.
Cook the turkey breaking up the clumps.
Add the taco seasoning. Use either homemade taco seasoning or store-bought taco mix packets. The ratio is one taco packet (or 3 tbsp of homemade mix) to one pound of meat.
Pour in water. Cover the taco meat and cook for 7 to 8 minutes until the taco meat sauce thickens up. While the meat simmers, bake the taco shells and prepare the taco toppings.
There should be a thick taco gravy.
Assemble the taco by adding ground turkey taco meat, shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, and hot sauce. Use any type of taco topping.
