These delicious baklava rolls are made with phyllo, ghee (or butter), walnuts, sugar, cinnamon, and orange blossom water. A homemade simple syrup is poured on top.
Thaw the phyllo dough ahead of time by moving it from the freezer to the fridge the day before.
Add the walnuts to the food processor. Chop the walnuts into pieces.
Add the crushed walnuts to a large bowl. Mix in the sugar, cinnamon, and orange blossom water.
Melt the ghee in the microwave. Set up your work station: melted ghee (with a brush), crushed walnut mixture, and thawed phyllo sheets.
Lay a single sheet of phyllo and lather it with melted ghee. Repeat for three sheets of phyllo. Add some walnut mixture on top.
Spread the walnut mixture in a thin layer on the phyllo sheet.
Roll the phyllo tightly into a log.
Repeat rolling phyllo logs until all of the walnut mixture is used up. Lay the logs in a baking dish. Lather the top with ghee.
Slice the baklava rolls before baking. Bake the baklava rolls at 375 ℉ (190 ℃) for 25-30 minutes or until golden and crispy.
While the baklava rolls are baking, make the simple syrup. Add water, sugar, orange blossom water, and lemon juice to a pot. Simmer until it thickens.
Once the baklava rolls come out of the oven, pour the simple syrup on top. Let cool before serving.
