Ground Lamb Shepherd's Pie

Easy ground lamb shepherd's pie is made with spiced ground lamb, pomegranate molasses, and cardamom mashed potatoes.

Inspired by Middle Eastern spices like seven spices, pomegranate molasses, and ground cardamom, this shepherd's pie will take you on a food journey.

Peel and boil the potatoes until tender. In the same pot, add the butter, ground cardamom, salt, mashed garlic, and hot milk.

Mash the potatoes until creamy.

In a nonstick skillet, add the olive oil, chopped onions, and ground lamb. Break up the clumps.

Add the frozen carrots, frozen peas, mashed garlic, and tomato paste, and some water. Add salt, seven spices, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.

Once the meat and vegetables are cooked through (about 10 minutes), add the pomegranate molasses.

Layer half of the mashed potatoes on the bottom.

Add all of the spiced lamb mixture. Then the rest of the potatoes on top.

Sprinkle with cheese on top. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in a 400 ℉ (200 ℃) oven.

Remove when the cheese is brown and bubbling.
